Google Conference and Travel Scholarships

Eligibility

To be eligible for a scholarship to attend a conference in India, applicants must:
  • Be a student enrolled with a recognized university in India who is in need of conference travel funds.
  • Have a paper accepted at a top-tier top-tier computer science conference. We prefer to support conferences in research areas where Google has a strong interest. Please visit ai.google for a list of areas. The paper must be accepted for full publication and preferably full oral presentation. As an indicator, we have recently approved travel scholarships for CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, CHI, AAAI, STOC, PLDI, COLT, KDD, ICCV, EMNLP, WWW, ACL, Interspeech and FSE.
  • Be the primary author of the accepted paper.
  • Have a paper accepted for oral presentation in the main conference program. Some conferences may have different presentation guidelines in which case the equivalent of a conventional full oral presentation must be considered. Workshop papers will not be approved for travel scholarships.

Claim process

We review applications on a rolling basis, all year round, therefore you will get our reply within three weeks of applying. Please note that given the high volume of applications, we will not be sending decision emails to applicants who do not meet our review criteria. For example: If you have a workshop paper at a CS conference or a full paper at a non-CS conference, we will not be in a position to reply.
Once approved for a travel scholarship, the funds will be paid to the applicant’s university and the student may claim expenses using regular university procedures.

“AICTE-INAE Travel Grant Scheme” for Engineering Students

An “AICTE-INAE Travel Grant Scheme” for Engineering Students to present papers abroad has been launched for enhancing the quality of engineering education in the country. The objective of the scheme is to provide partial travel assistance and registration fees to Bachelors and Masters Level engineering students for presenting a research paper in an international scientific event (conference/seminar/symposium/workshop/exhibition etc) in order to encourage engineering students to engage in research. The proposal(s) received duly completed in all respects will be evaluated by subject experts.

Scholarships Engineering Students

1. Ratan Tata Scholarship for Engineering Students

 Tata Education and Development Trust - a philanthropic affiliate of India’s Tata Group provides this fellowship named as Ratan Tata Scholarship for Engineering Students. A $25 million endowment has been established that will allow Cornell to provide financial aid to undergraduate students from India by the Tata Group. Tata Fellowship Fund will support approximately 20 scholars at any given time and will ensure that the very best Indian students can have access to Cornell, regardless of their financial circumstances. The scholarship for btech students will be awarded annually and the recipients will receive it duration of their undergraduate studies at Cornell.


To avail it, the student must –

 Be a citizen of India and have attended secondary school in India
      Be offered admission to Cornell as an undergraduate student

 Be eligible for need-based financial aid.

2. Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships (IOCL)  
 Indian Oil Corporation Limited provides scholarship in India for engineering students.
 The candidates who secured admission in 1st year of full time engineering course in any UGC Approved University and whose family income is below INR 1,00,000 per annum, are eligible for the IOCL Scholarship.

 Amount – INR 2000 per month.
     Total Seat - 100

  

3. Merit Cum Means Based Scholarships


The Ministry of Minority Affairs offers this fellowship to the students who want to pursue Engineering. To avail the benefits of it, the candidates should belong to any of the minority communities including Sikhs, Christians, Muslims, Jains, Parsis etc. As per the eligibility criteria, such aspirants’ family income must be below INR 2,50,000 per annum.
  Amount - INR 10,000 per year in addition to course fee. 


4. NTPC Scholarship Scheme


To benefit ST, SC & PWD Candidates, NTPC bestows the financial support in the form of Scholarship for 2nd Year Engineering Students.  To be considered eligible for the NTPC scholarship, candidate must be pursuing full time graduation course in any Engineering Branch.

 Amount – INR 1500 per month. It is paid from the second year of the degree.



5. VIT University Ignite Scholarships


One of the India’s top universities VIT, offers this scholarship to the engineering students.  
Only those people who have gained admission in VIT University will be considered for the Ignite Scholarship.  Amount – It will cover the tuition fee of the entire four years of the engineering course.   Total Seats - 200



6. Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students


The Central Government & Ministry of Human Resources Development (Department of Higher Education) introduced a fellowship named as Central Sector Scholarship Scheme which is provided to the graduate and post graduate students. The scholarship for engineering students by Central Government is eligible for only the ones who have scored minimum 80% in class 12.  Amount – INR 1000 is paid to each student per month for 10 months in an academic year.  Total Seats - 82000


7. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Fellowship


Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Fellowship is a Government Scholarship For Btech Students which is offered by the Department of Science and Technology & Government of India. The Students belonging to Science, Medicine and Engineering Field can avail it if fulfilling the below criteria. The candidates must have secured minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST) in 10th and 12th Standards may apply for this.  Amount - INR 4000 to INR 7000 per month is awarded.



8. North South Foundation Scholarships


This fellowship is provided by North South Foundation to the students who’re pursuing professional courses in Engineering & Medical Fields. Candidate’s family income must not exceed INR 65000 per annum.  Amount – INR 5000 – 15000 per year during the entire course.



9. ONGC Scholarship for SC/ST Students


This fellowship is awarded by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited for SC/ST students pursuing professional courses like Engineering and Medical. Candidate’s family income must not exceed INR 4.5 Lacs per annum.  Amount - INR 1500 per month for 4 years.   Total Seats – 247 engineering scholarships



10. Panasonic Scholarship


It is a scholarship for btech students 1st year who are BPL Card holders or are not able to pay for their studies in IITs.  Amount – INR 42500 per year for 4 consecutive years as grant to cover students’ tuition fee.



11. Siemens Scholarship


It is a scholarship for btech students 1st year in IITs & NITs. Candidate’s family income must be below 2 Lacs per annum. Students are awarded with Siemens Scholarship throughout four years of BTech.



12. LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship


LIC Golden Jubilee Fellowship is provided to the meritorious candidates who’re pursuing graduation in any stream by LIC from any government or private colleges. To avail this Government Scholarship for Btech Students, the candidate’s family income must not exceed INR 1 Lac per annum.  Amount - INR 10000 per year for 4 years.



13. Foundation for Excellence Scholarship


This Fellowship is offered by the Foundation for Excellence, Bangalore for the meritorious candidates who’re pursuing B.E./B.Tech and MBBS.  The candidate’s family income must not exceed INR 1,80,000 per annum.



14. FAEA BHEL Scholarship


FAEA BHEL Fellowship is offered by BHEL for the candidates who’re pursuing graduation and are from Socially and Economically weaker backgrounds in BPL category.   Amount – It covers tuition fee, maintenance fee, books allowance, travel allowance, clothing allowance and miscellaneous allowance.



15. Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship


Swami Vivekananda Fellowship is offered by the Government of West Bengal for the meritorious candidates who have gained admission in first year of Engineering. The candidate’s family income must be less than INR 2,50,000.   Amount - INR 1000 – 5000 per month during the entire course.



16. IET India Scholarship


IET India Scholarship is a fellowship for 2nd & 3rd year engineering students in India provided by IET.  To get it candidates will go through the various selection rounds included an online test.  Amount – Total INR 8 Lacs which will be distributed to the selected candidates.



17. NEST Scholarship


NEST fellowship is provided by SUFI (NGO) and SEMCI for 3rd year and 4th year engineering candidates. Candidates would be selected through the online test.  Amount – INR 35,000 will be provided and fellowship of INR 75,000 will be given to the topper of the first rank holder.
